Books for parents of premature babies

Previously the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity, we re-launched as The Children’s Surgery Foundation in 2019 to reflect the national scope of our work today. The story below is from our days as the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity.

We’ve bought 40 books for parents of babies in the Neonatal Unit at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. The book guides parents step by step through their premature baby’s stay in hospital, and helps them to feel more confident about caring for their baby.

“We are giving the books to parents of extremely premature babies of less than 30 weeks gestation, who will be in the Neonatal Unit for some time. Parents love it! Thanks so much for funding the books,” says Sue Nderitu, Neonatal Coordinator.
