Helping bereaved parents

Previously the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity, we re-launched as The Children’s Surgery Foundation in 2019 to reflect the national scope of our work today. The story below is from our days as the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity.

We were glad to help Neonatal Bereavement Nurse Sinead Pritchard with a request for items to support bereaved parents, including a camera and memory cards.

"Most of the parents I speak to regret not having taken the opportunity to have photos when they lose a baby. And the inkless wipes I've asked for will help with hand prints and footprints – memory making is so important. It may be very painful at the time, but parents may be glad to revisit these very special mementoes at a later date."
