Award gifts for new nurses
09 Oct ArchivePreviously the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity, we re-launched as The Children’s Surgery Foundation in 2019 to reflect the national scope of our work today. The story below is from our days as the Chelsea Children’s Hospital Charity.
We were delighted to be able to provide gifts for our hospital's newly qualified paediatric nurses who were honoured at an awards ceremony last week.
All the new nurses at the ceremony were given gift cards from our supporter Perfect 10 Mobile Beauty while the award-winners also received beautiful gold-plated necklaces from our charity partner Merci Maman.
"The awards recognise their achievements in finishing our 12-month education programme and transitioning from student nurse to staff nurse," said Bethan Morris, Paediatrics Practice Development Nurse and co-organiser of the awards.
Vivette Wallen-Mitchell, Lead Educator NICU/Paedatrics, said, "Thanks so much for providing the gifts. They are a fantastic contribution and a great recognition of the nurses' achievements over the year!"
“We’re thrilled to have been able to help with this wonderful initiative," said Rebecca McLoughlin, Charity Manager. "Thank you to Bethan for approaching us, it’s a great way to support the children’s wards, and thank you to Perfect 10 and to our charity partner Merci Maman for providing the beautiful necklaces."
After the ceremony, newly qualified nurses Amy Phelan and Issy Ellis (pictured above) popped into our office to say thanks and to show off their certificates and gifts.
Big congratulations to all of you!
